Thank You F3

Thank you to the 8 PAX who showed up YHC’s second attempt to show up for an anniversary Q which meant a lot. Did not bring the shovel flag but it was there in spirit.

Conditions- not so bad but not exactly dry

The Thang-

Circled up where the shovel flag would usually be for a nice warmup even though some would argue that it didn’t exactly feel Like a warmup but there’s nothing wrong with making sure everyone is good and loose…

Mosey to block pile to grab a block and carry to field. PAX partnered up with someone with similar size.

Each team fireman carried (except Uncle Rico apparently has a dr approved checklist on what exercises are ok and which are not) to one side of field then back switching at each side. Once teams have returned, 100 merkins for each team.

Grab block, Q sack to other side and back 100 big boys for each team.

Farmers carry block to other side and back, 100 curls

Carry block to pull up bars with random calls to Q sack, 65 pull ups from each team.

3 laps around parking lot then 30 overhead arm presses
3 more laps and time had ran out
Return blocks

Mosey to where shovel flag is normally

So I finished early only because I felt like I needed to share my appreciation of F3 and what F3 has meant to me in my first year, with those who were there.

It all started with me seeing MIB at a Pest Control meeting where we discussed running. There he told me about a group that woke up at 5 AM to run and do boot camps and said I should join him sometime. At first, I looked at him like he was out of his mind and I told him maybe but in my head I was screaming “Heck no!!!” I told him we were moving in a month so wasn’t a good time. So I said maybe after we move, from which he got the exact date and said he would call me the week after to join him. Not really thinking he was serious, I shrugged it off and said ok. So a month later we moved and the following week I got the text and couldn’t believe he was actually serious and remembered. So I caved in and said to pick me up in the morning and I would join him.

I will never forget that first workout as it was led by Tuber and it was absolutely terrible. I could barely keep up with anyone, I felt like garbage and I puked at the end. But during all of it there was always someone there to push me a long. Like Tuber slowing down while we were doing laps to encourage me and to get to know me at the same time. That truly meant a lot to me. But as much as it sucked, it equally felt great! So I went home seriously debating on whether I wanted to go through that hell again or just go back to doing the easy thing and enjoying my extra hour or two of sleep. But I didn’t want to give up so easily and decided to see if I truly could get better and I did. I got better physically where before I was running a little under a 10 minute mile and I never thought I would ever break a 8 minute mile but saw myself push to a sub 7 mile. I’ve ran much further than any distance I have previously done before and will be doing my First marathon in December (still seems stupid). I attribute this to the daily push that F3 gives me through the awesome men that make F3 what it is.

Through F3 I feel like I gained a family of some of the most amazing men. As an adolescent and young adult I never surrounded myself with the right choice of people. The fellowship that I have enjoyed with these guys have made a great impact on my life. Just by being around them, makes me want to be better, so thank you!

My faith is my weakest area but I really feel like I have grown in this area because of F3. Whether it be through Billy Goat, conversation or even the end of work Out prayers, the exposure and comfort I have with talking about faith has improved but I know I have a ways to go.

So thank you all of F3 for your day to day blessings on my life and the amazing year you have given me to become a better man physically, mentally and spiritually.
