Getting Back To GOAT

Fall finally feels like it’s ready to show up and stay, and subsequently it has become apparent that YHC needs to start showing up to boot camps more regularly. Slate and Lapdog have been kind enough to drag my aging yet petite behind on several runs recently, and have encouraged me to make my way back to GOAT in so doing. When I saw the open spot on the Q sheet, opportunity was not to be passed up. After YHCs first installment of Billy (TClaps to Phonebooth for the Q), it was time to get to work as a party of 10. After a meticulously prepared and delivered disclaimer, it was time to get to it.

The conditions: 53 and a relief from even the sweaty day before…

The Thang:

COP

SSH X 20 IC

IW X 20 IC

Flutter Kicks X 20 IC

LAC X 20 IC

To Parking lot behind SHHS, to the parking spot marked 1

Burpee Suicides

Starting at spot 1, all PAX run to spot 5, do 5 burpees, run back.

Run to spot 10, run back

Repeat all the way to far end of lot, stopping at every spot ending with a 5 or 0 and completing 5 burpees, then running back.  Plan A was to include the spots marked CATS as well, but time began to run short so we stopped at 65.  Predictably, Slate ran right by the field early and I got to watch him get smaller in front of me quickly.  Everyone pushed hard.  Once we finished, we reconvened at some curb for a final push.

20 incline Merkins on curb

20 BBSU

20 Iron Crosses

20 Decline merkins on curb

Run big loop around parking lot behind CATS and back around to shovel flag

Cobains for late arrival back, Q fail, several guys had to leave before BOM, totally understandable.  Names, Announements, Prayer Requests, closing prayer.

Thanks to everyone for putting in the work today, I heard secondhand that we covered over 3 miles.  Looking forward to leading this group again.  Only Phonebooth actively threatened me today, so I’ll take that as having been well received and welcome.  Kramer informed me, albeit politely and the respect that someone of my advanced age should receive, that he was slightly disappointed that there were no donuts and coffee.  Next time, my friend.
