Despite the possibility of YHC being on the Q twice in a week being a sign of the apocalypse (as pointed out by Quisenberry), 10 PAX arose out of the fartsack to put their rucks through their paces in the unusually brisk (for this week) Easter morning gloom through the hills of Whiteford. Today’s route took more of a “choose your own adventure” flavor as there were options aplenty for the PAX to push themselves even harder if they so chose.
Conditions: Low 40’s to upper 30’s and clear
Route(s): Depart Lowes in Lexington down Whiteford Way; continue all the way to Hwy. 6 / N. Lake Drive; turn left on Hwy. 6 / N. Lake Drive; continue to Old Cherokee; turn left on Old Cherokee up the yet unnamed mountainous hill to the Publix parking lot; follow parking lot back the start point. This route yielded 3.5 miles. Those that wanted more of a challenge added the Saddlebrooke Rd. portion of Whiteford to the route for approximately an extra 1/4 of a mile. 6 total PAX chose this option and those of us not choosing that option met them back at the (other) intersection of Whiteford Way and Saddlebrooke Rd. Those that wanted even more of a challenge added the portion of Hwy. 6 / N. Lake Drive up to Hwy. 378 for approximately another 3/4 of a mile. 3 PAX chose this option and with a VERY quick pace met the rest of us back at the starting point on time.
Prayer Req:
Fieldgoal’s cousin – Jordan Grissom – brain cancer; multiple surgeries; battling it whole life
Quest’s Wife’s cousin – Nathan Miles – battling alcoholism; had been in rehab for nearly a year and has had recent relapses
Dunphy’s Mother in Law – still in ICU from pneumonia; no change
All PAX traveling this week
Moleskin: Great effort by all PAX today, especially those that chose the extra distance and still made the time hack to get back in a hour. Thanks again for putting up with YHC as he learns how to lead these awesome groups of men.
