The Fort: 2013 "Invergence"….A celebration of 1 year shovel flag south of the border

Invergence:  Defined as the inverting of the F3 model by converging a group of multiple shovel flag locations with an event where the primary focus of the event is Faith (3rd F) followed quickly by Fellowship (2nd F).

On September 27th, The Fort (that location just south of the NC line that has cheap gas), inverted to celebrate its 1 year founding with over 55 PAX.  6 FNGs posted along with the faithful PAX.  Despite the chiding of the M’s, these men were able to pull off the triple double by organizing a food event complete with utensils, food, and yes a dessert.  (even though these were confiscated cookies of that weeks school events and a dozen of older doughnuts from the Teeter).  Beacon posted with 2 types of dip – one blue cheese and one ranch (yes we got it), Real Things world championship brisket, and plenty of nacho chips.

The Thang:  DD, Red Eye, Dredd, OBT, and Santini took the PAX (post dinner) through a 1.5 hour double down  of a faith based message, the purpose of F3, our calling as men to go do more, and a challenge for The Fort to do more, be more, go farther, and then some.  We learned about the great opportunity for us as leaders with The Iron Project (thanks Dredd/OBT) and had a chance to explore the faith (F) further with messages from leaders from the PAX.

A fire was lit, beers were cracked, and fellowship was had by all.  In short, a great event celebrating The Fort and the great work underway with F3 in the hearts and lives of men all over F3 nation.

If you’d like to know about upcoming events that will allow you as a leader to explore this further via The Iron Project, see these links below:

Group in a Bag weekend: This is coming up October 25-27 Camp Canaan.
Project 72 training: This is specific to planting a men’s ministry group inside your church and will pair participants up with men who have been part of the Christ Church Men of Purpose ministry. Strummer/OBT leads: November 8-9 in Charlotte.
