#Scramble Track

When it’s cold, YHC has a habit of dropping gear along a route.  When it’s this cold it’s like a yard sale… in everyone’s front yard.  So, rather than scattering gear across half of Forest Acres, and being that Monday’s a traditional speed/track day, Trenholm Plaza become our course with a bunch of ugly mixed in.  ‘Gotta get warm, right?

Conditions: 22 degrees.  Cold.

TheThang:

The morn began with a single warmup lap around the outer Trenholm Loop (back side of the Publix “L”) which is about half a mile before the circuit du jour as follows:

  • In the first parking lane facing Publix, sprint to the end
  • coming back in the second parking lane, left side run/hop/hobble back
  • in the third parking lane switch and right side run/hop/hobble toward J Crew
  • Coming back, run backwards to the end
  • Then loop around in front of OHOP and sprint to 32 Degrees
  • Finally run the outer Trenholm loop to recover and take stock of just how much that combo sucked.

Rinse & Repeat 3 times (four total circuits).  As each circuit was +/-0.8 miles and we did that four time plus the warmup lap, the final distance was just under 4 miles which most of us extended to get full credit.  It looked like this on Strava:

Announcements:

  • The F3Camden launch got pushed back to this coming weekend due to the uncertain weather this past Friday night.
  • The best college football team in the country will win tonight in Tampa.  Enjoy.
  • MGC Long Run is less than a month away… which means it’s time to start running a few distance miles to gear up.  Register Here for the 2/4/17 15K.

NMM:

  • Great having a few stalwarts to run with this morning.  YHC has no idea what it will be like walking by this evening but I’m certainly glad there will be someone with which to commiserate.
  • FYI, RA’s got the #Hammer Q in the morning.  It might be heavy on the upper body.  You’ve been warned.
  • I’m not entirely sure but we may have found the best way to rub blisters on your feet.  I’ll know in a few hours.  #Disclaimer.
