Legion 07/30/15: Introducing WOD “Man-U”

7 men met in the Gloom to prove they were #LegionLegit…they were. Here’s what you missed.


The Thang:

Fast Mosey around park to the Playground.

Instructions: Modified Chelsea

The Chelsea WOD is a Cross-Fit workout where you do 5 Pull-Ups, 10 Push-Ups, and 15 Squats every minute on the minute. We added 20 crunches to the set, and did it for 30 minutes (#CrowdPleaser).

Let’s call this Man-U (i.e. Manchester United, Chelsea’s hated Premier League Rival)

So, that’s 5 Pull-Ups, 10 Push-Ups, 15 Squats, and 20 LBCs, every minute on the minute for 30 minutes.

Totals: 150 Pull-Ups, 300 Push-Ups, 450 Squats, and 600 LBCs, and we were only half-way through.

Fast Mosey past the pond over to the General.

Run up the hill, 10 Merkins, down the hill,
then right back up, 15 Merkins, down the hill,
right back up, 20 Merkins, down the hill,
right back up, 25 Merkins, down the hill,
right back up, 30 Merkins, down the hill

(that’s 100 more Merkins…if you’re keeping count)

Mosey cross the field, over the creek, to the Captain

Run up the hill, 10 Russian Twists (R+L=1), down the hill,
right back up, 20 Russian Twists (R+L=1), down the hill,
right back up, 30 Russian Twists (R+L=1), recover at the top

Fast mosey through the parking lot, around the baseball field, to the concrete bleachers.

Box Jump up each rise (7 total), then bear crawl down, stopping at each riser to do 5 decline Merkins
(Total decline Merkins = 35)

Hold 6 inches until the 6 arrives.

Box Jump up each rise, reverse lunge walk down
Box Jump up each rise, lunge walk down

Hold 6 inches until the 6 arrives.

This was a doozy. Merkin totals = 435. 150 Pull-Ups. 600 LBCs. 450 Squats. Hill Repeats. Box Jumps.
