5 arose early Friday morning for a short 5k and coffeeteria.
The new route was:
Leave Trenholm plaza heading north on Forest, Left on Clemson, Left on Trenholm. Once back to Trenholm Plaza, that loop is 2.4 miles. Continue pass Trenholm Plaza to Sylvan, turn around back to AO for 3.1.

For those who don’t know, I live at the corner of Sylvan and Pine Valley. Whenever Sylvan is included on the route, we typically pass my house. On this day, I left at 5:25ish am. Im about 150 yards away from my house and then the street lights go out. I didn’t think anything of it as i figured they were on so sort of timer. One hour later I get a text from my neighbor Hampton (F3 Stilts….remember him?). He informs me that one of my trees is blocking Sylvan. Sure enough it was my tree that knocked out the lights and missed me this morning by 7-10 seconds. A nice 5k, cup of coffee, and impending battle with DOT and insurance company is good way to start the weekend.
