#Brickpile Off Campus

Since the fated (but not our fault) locking down of the #Brickpile AO, today’s #downPAINment was strictly off the reservation.  And by that I mean we didn’t do a darn thing on Dreher property… not that there’s anything wrong with that. There’s plenty to see and do in Heathwood and the #Brickpile pax tried to do it all this morning.

Conditions: 46 degrees and quite comfortable once out of the wind tunnel

TheThang:

Immediately exit the AO and mosey around the wall to the corner of Adger & Cassina:

  • SSH X 30, 4Ct IC
  • Mercans X 10, 4Ct IC
  • Squats X 12, 4Ct IC – at which point traffic forced the pax out of the way.

Mosey the rest of the way down Adger to the corner of Adger & Devereaux for a partner distance Dora of sorts.  It went like this:

  • Partner 1: Sprint to the first intersection (Devereaux and Albion in this case) while
  • Partner 2: Lunge Walk in the same direction.
  • Partner 1: at the first intersection, Lunge Walk in the same direction
  • Partner: Sprint to catch up to partner 1.
  • Rinse & Repeat the series, from block to block, stopping at Kilbourne

Crossing Kilbourne as a group, the above series was restarted for a single block (to Abelia) but with the much loved Duck Walk substituted for the Lunge Walk.

Plank for the six & then Mosey south on Abelia Road

At the first Basketball court in Heathwood park, bear crawl the long length, plank for the six and then move on to the pull up bars for a Circuit as follows:

  • 10 Pullups
  • 20 Squats
  • 30 LBC’s
  • Rinse & Repeat for three  full sets

Mosey around the clubhouse to the tennis courts for the following:

  • Left/Right Ski Hops X 45 Seconds
  • Front/Back Bunny Hops X 45 Seconds
  • Bear Crawl the width of the first court
  • 5 Carolina Drydocks
  • Bear Crawl between courts
  • 5 Carolina Drydocks
  • Bear Crawl the second court
  • 5 Carolina Drydocks
  • Left/Right Ski Hops X 45 Seconds
  • Front/Back Bunny Hops X 45 Seconds
  • Bear Crawl back across the width of the second court
  • 5 Carolina Drydocks
  • Bear Crawl between courts
  • 5 Carolina Drydocks
  • Bear Crawl across the first court
  • 5 Carolina Drydocks

Suicides X 2 on the tennis courts

Mosey back up to the little field beside the basketball court for:

  • Mercan’s X 10, 4Ct IC
  • Squats X 20, 4Ct IC
  • LBC’s X 30, 4Ct IC

Mosey across Heathwood park to the corner of Cassina and Abelia and partner back up again for the trip back home… repeating the cycle above but in reverse…

  • Partner 1 Duckwalks while Partner 2 sprints to Kilbourne, Flapjack of sorts.
  • Partner 1 Lunge Walk while Partner 2 sprints to Heathwood Circle & Flapjack

Another set of the circuit above there at the corner of Heathwood Circle and Cassina (the first one)

  • Mercan’s X 10, 4Ct IC
  • Squats X 20, 4Ct IC
  • LBC’s X 30, 4Ct IC

Return to the Partner mode of transportation around the curve with Partner 1 doing Lunge Walk while Partner 2 sprints again, flapjack & repeat around to the other corner of Cassina & Heathwood Circle.

  • Plankorama with some Right and Left arms up and the much loved Starfish, #RobberPleaser
  • Mercan’s X 10, 4CT IC

Mosey together back to the corner of Cassina and Adger where the workout began… to complete the original series with:

  • Squats X 8, 4Ct IC
  • LBC’s X 30, 4Ct IC (super fast)

Jailbreak back to… the rocks… because shovel flags apparently are also locked out of the AO.

COT & BOM

NMM:

  • Word of thanks shared by Robber for the generosity shown to #TheMission.  Our service there has meaning, it has impact.  Whether it’s the generous financial contributions or the friendly faces on a Saturday morning, we have an incredibly important ministry to those men.  If and when you can, head to Finlay Park on Saturday mornings.  They know you exist and you know they exist but there’s no fellowship in that knowledge.  Be a brother to those men.
  • Fun times at #Brickpile.  It always takes longer to get to Heathwood Park than I expect but it’s so worth the trip.  Great gains being made by many of the #Faithful.
  • T-Claps to Woody (belated) for stepping up as AOQ for our #Mothership.  This thing called F3 doesn’t run itself so thank you to the men who make it happen every day across our city.
  • F3Camden launch is building steam.  Consider heading out there on a Saturday or, if you’re feeling frisky, look for their Tuesday/Thursday start on the 31st.
  • T-Claps to Chaser for stepping up with a ready devo.  Be a witness.  F3 stands for great things.  If you’re a man of Christ, then our first order of business is demonstrating Christian truth to the men around us.
