Due to YHC’s upcoming ultra P200 running on his mind lately. With that said, this workout no running at all. Run on running days, cross train on other days. The goal is to keep the cardio up, but in ways that can give those overworked long distance running muscle’s some recovery. What was planned was an intense (i.e., keep the HR up which is key) no running runners workout. The muscle groups targeted? All of ’em.
4 pax arose from the fartsack to test there wills for an intense 30 minutes.
Conditions: a reasonable 37 degrees
The Thang: from the parking lot mosey to the playground for
- 25 SSH (in cadence)
- 15 Burpees OYO
- 15 overhead squats (in cadence)
- 15 plank jack (in cadence)
- 15 hand release merkins OYO
rinse/repeat x 5. Then over to the jungle gym for
- 10 burpee pull-ups (they’re just like they sound)
- 20 box jumps
rinse/repeat x 2. Then
- 20 Carolina dry docks with feet on bench
- 20 single leg backward lunges with one leg on bench (10 each leg).
rinse/repeat x 2. Then time for a little Mary:
- 20 Russian twists
- 20 lower half russian twist
- 20 LBC’s
- 20 Big Boys (called by Turtle)
- 20 V-up boat canoe things (called by Splinter, yeah they sucked)
