3rd F Opportunity – Milhouse Family

Greetings F3 PAX. A family needs our help.

Imagine being awakened in the middle of the night by the deafening sounds of smoke detectors. You frantically gather your wife and children and exit the house as quickly as possible. Minutes later, standing in just the clothes you wore to bed, you’re watching your home – your safe place – your haven from the outside stresses of work – all go up in flames. Then you ask yourself, “now what?”

This is exactly what happened to the Milhouse family on October 25th. Tiffany and Nick were awakened by a fire that started on their front porch. They gathered their children, Merik, Heaven, Dom, and Cobi, and got out as fast as they could with only the clothes on their backs. They lost everything – including two of their vehicles.

Thankfully, through family and a GoFundMe page, they are starting to get back to some semblance of a normal life. But they still need help. Plans to have a new mobile home placed are contingent upon clearing away the debris. Here’s where you can help!

The Deets:

This Saturday, November 19, we’re asking for anyone that can spare some time to help clear away debris.

Location: 610 S Dixie Rd, Wagener, SC 29164

Time: 0700 to 1700

Needed: Bodies (many hands make light work). Any tools you think are relevant to clearing away debris. Imagine a completely burnt mobile home and plan accordingly. Josh “Skunky” Hills has graciously secured a dumpster for the day. Bring gloves and any extras you might have for those that might have forgotten. Coolers with drinks.

Other ways you can help if you can’t be there:

  • Dumpster donation. Skunky paid $525 for the dumpster out of his own pocket. He could use some help recovering some, if not all, of that. You can Venmo him @Josh-Hills
  • GoFundMe donation for the Milhouse family. They still need financial help. Any amount is helpful. Tiffany has tried to be as transparent as possible about where the funds are going. You can keep up with their status and donate here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/the-milhouse-family-fire
  • General household donations. Tiffany said that they’ve received a lot of clothes and other items, but what they mostly need are clear totes to store items in, gift cards so that they can all eat together since they’ve been split up since the fire, games, and dishes.

Special Olympics BBQ will be on hand to serve you for lunch.

Sorry, no porta-John, but there are plenty of woods. If you need to take care of business that can’t be taken care of in the woods, there is a convenience store a short drive away.

If you need any additional information, you can contact Skunky directly at (803)391-5051.

If you can spare even an hour, any help would be appreciated. The more men we have, the sooner we can help the Milhouse family get back on track. Twenty to thirty men can accomplish more in a few hours than five men could in a full day.
