21 GUN SALUTE

Conditions:  49 and airish

Intro:  I was going to originally title this workout 4X6 TRAIN, but after the complaints of gunfire from the locals, I felt that 21 Guns was more appropriate.  21 Pax showed up on this cool morning to try something different.  We introduced the use of timbers into our workout but it was not until halfway through that I realized the symbolism of the workout with the week at hand.  I will address in Moleskin! Shout out to my best friend in Charleston, “PTA” for the inspiration of the below workout! We never made it up the Bridge for the Warmup!

Moleskin:  One of the things that I try and do while at F3Camden is be sensitive to the fact that not everyone shares the same kind of faith; however, Faith is an integral part of our PAX and the F3 Family even if different.  We have seen our faith and love in action over the last year and especially over the last week. For me, I am not ashamed to say that my faith in God is a huge part of who I am as a person.  I also must state, as a someone who has given his heart to Christ, that I was moved with the symbolism of today’s workout as we head into Good Friday and Easter.  In full disclosure, I did not have this in mind when I was planning the workout. I just wanted to try something that was new, was fun and pushed us.  The pain in my right shoulder tells me I hit the last one.  But, as I was on my back completing BBSUs of Round 2, I noticed someone in the next team slide the post behind his head and carry it crucifix style.  It was at that moment that I yelled out, “Christ had to carry it uphill”!  I was trying to be inspirational but when it came my turn to lunge walk, again, I was moved with the thought of what Christ did for me when he carried and ultimately hung on a Cross.  There is also a powerful part of that journey that reminds me a little of F3.  As Jesus was being forced to carry the Cross, the soldiers forced Simon of Cyrene to help Him carry the cross up the hill.  The symbolism is that we all need help.  We do not do life alone and we sure as heck do not do F3 alone.  We encourage, strengthen, sharpen, and inspire each other.  We pray, fellowship and even laugh with the members of our PAX and we are truly making a difference in the lives of the men that make up F3Camden! I am thankful for this band of men!
