Mulligans CAT Debut

YHC was nursing an Achilles strain from P200, so the CAT boys endured a focused beatdown on upper body and core. #TCLAPS to Irrev for joining mid-ruck to fill out our 8th man (needed multiples of 4 for the wienke). He didn’t even take the ruck off for BC. #TCLAPS to Dozer for getting in some solo SL. #shockfactor goes to Drisoket’s hair (or current lack thereof).

Conditions: 38 and clear

YHC just started reading a book called Raising Men, penned by a Navy SEAL who has taken the tenets of SEAL training and translated them into parenting tips for fathers. One of the first points of the book is that just being around your 2.0 isn’t enough. The HIM needs to be engaged in connecting with his 2.0. That shouldn’t be forced though… YHC gave the Pax choices during this workout just as they will need to make choices in how to engage with their 2.0 at home. Within the structure of a man’s responsibilities (the prescribed exercise rotation), there is time to make choices about what you’ll do to engage for the betterment of yourself and your 2.0 (the core exercise choice). Build LEGOs, play catch, ride bikes, whatever… but in it all make sure to listen, to not be distracted, and look out for the underlying things that make your 2.0 tick. It’s not in their best interest for us to be overprotective – 2.0s need to make and learn from mistakes – but a consistent connection with our 2.0s will help us realize when to throw up a guardrail to prevent an issue that could put them down a bad road.
