After a 12 day hiatus due to a quarantine, YHC was back at it today, confusing his brothers with a bunch of instructions, that didn’t make sense, just like the good ol’ days! It was good to see the guys, especially Good Hands and Bing who we haven’t seen in a while, even though Good Hands gave a lot of unsolicited advice after not seeing him for like two years.
YHC didn’t sleep well last night, more on that in the devo, so he wasn’t his usual discombobulated self, though that may be a good thing. As Ken Doll said “Cheers always has good intentions,” which may have been sarcastic.
Here’s how it went today:

Devo:
YHC had a personal setback yesterday at work which has him questioning his future. Carrying a lot of animosity, embarrassment, shame, and hurt pride, he also lost a good 5 hours of sleep last night.
YHC got a text from his brother that said, basically, “don’t let your work define you; you are a good husband, father, brother, and friend.” While those words weren’t encouraging at the time, YHC was still furious about the work situation, they did speak volumes at 2am.
YHC realized that what should define you are the loyal, unflinching things that God has put in your life. You could lose your job tomorrow to a layoff, but things like your family and good friends are the sustaining value that make you, you. Your actions, how you treat people, and your involvement in the community are all things that define you. Having your little girl hug your neck first thing in the morning to tell you “I love you daddy” is something that defines you. The support of your wife and how your F3 brothers rally around you are what make you. These are gifts from God that should never be overlooked.
Make sure that you do something every day that defines you the way God would have it be said. Be thankful for the gifts he has given you that are there with unquestioned loyalty. These are the important things.
