I like to check up on the men of Turning Point every now and then and make sure they’re still following the rules – 1 minute warning, counting in cadence, calling exercises and the intro correctly, the usual stuff. They usually keep me straight. Here’s how it went down this morning.
Conditions: nicer than usual

Great job by all PAX this morning, lots of chatter and lots of “we want some mo!” attitude from these dudes. No quit.

As I was driving home last night, the sports radio show had Benjamin Watson on as a guest. He’s a veteran NFL tight end and has played with two of the greatest quarterbacks, Drew Brees and Tom Brady. Watson was asked what makes those two so great and his reply was that they aren’t scared to do what they know they need to do. They do what others are too afraid to do. He told a great story where the Saints players were working out in the gym, looked out the window, and saw Brees on the field going through his calls, motions, and routes as if he were in a game. Just him. Alone. He probably looked foolish but he knew what had to be done to be great and didn’t care what anybody thought. Combining this principle with Philippians 4:13 – I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, we need to do things in our faith, in our family, at our jobs that we know need to be done even if we don’t want to do them. Those are the things that make you great.
