The One where we remembered the heroes that came before us

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity. – Psalms 133:1

Short Haul made a call to the bullpen on Wednesday and YHC gladly accepted. After a brutal wk2 IronPax beatdown on Tuesday, YHC felt the pax needed a little levity and the plan was to bring the fun. Make no mistake, work was done. That’s how the men of Graveyard roll.

Devo

Our goal should be to return the unity our Nation showed in the days and weeks after 9/11. Also, shared the story of YHCs good friend that worked in World Trade Center Tower 2. He and another coworker had an appointment that morning & were not in the office on 9/11. He lost every one of his fellow coworkers that day and suffered tremendous survivor’s guilt. His depression led to his wife insisting that he get to SC and spend some time with me. We played some golf, shared a few drinks and had plenty of laughs that weekend. The time we spent together rejuvenated his soul and probably even saved his life. The only thing I had to do was to welcome him and be the friend I’ve always been to him.

Our country is in turmoil at present. It is our duty and mission as men to stand up for the Civil Society and defend our great Nation. We are charged to be courageous in adversity and to speak out and defend our fellow citizens from being harassed and maligned by those that wish our society and nation ill.  Moreover, be the men that others seek out and find refuge and solace in times of despair.

Our history is filled with stories of ordinary, yet courageous, men that were called on to do extraordinary things in defense of freedom and liberty.

“Men of honor don’t do the courageous thing for the accolades; but because it is the right thing to do, because it is their duty.”

Here are the words of the elite group of men of Easy Company that fought in WWII on being called heroes.
