THE “HIDDEN” AO AT GRAVEYARD GETS NAMED AFTER 60N45

So, we started with 2 PAX and this little Sprint Q (taken from a former PYT / YHC Q collaboration) has turned itself into a real thing…or an official AO inside of an AO.  However you wish to look at it.  Word has spread.  Twitter marketing and text messages have been produced.  The PAX have spoken.  And, they keep coming.  YHC really isn’t sure what gets dudes out of bed at 5:00 am to run…much less run 50-60 100-yard sprints in a timed format.  But, the PAX have come from AOs all over Lexington and Columbia to see what this is all about.  We play loud, obnoxious music the entire time.  Nailpop and Postal and Boo Boo are the ultimate in-your-face encouragers.  It’s a safe environment with no cars, no uneven sidewalks to trip over, no need for head lamps.  Your running surface is even cushioned by the wonderful plush pellets of RBHS’ football field.

Graveyard, Stomp, Detention, Turning Point, Crypt, Surge, Arena…..we have had PAX from all of these AOs come over to see what’s going on Wednesday mornings at 5:30.  It’s been an awesome display of interest for 45 minutes of exercise that basically….SUCKS.  But, you feel tremendous after finishing it.  Hi-Fives, fist bumps, dude hugs, head pats….it all happens after completing 45 minutes of insanity.  You go however fast you want.  But, we always start each sprint at the same time.  There are always a few PAX that turn a few sprints into a competition.  Always fun to watch.  So in case you’re wondering how it all works, here’s the monthly schedule:

1st Wednesday of the month:  50 100-yarders in 45 minutes

2nd Wednesday of the month: 100 sideline to sideline sprints in 45 minutes (butt kicker of a workout)

3rd Wednesday of the month:  50 100-yarders in 45 minutes

4th Wednesday of the month:  60 100-yarders in 45 minutes (soon to reach 65 or 70 I’m sure)

We hope to see you out one Wednesday morning.  Always support your local run groups.  But, if you’re looking for another running option to let off some steam.  Come find us…….at GasHouse..located at Graveyard (RBHS football stadium entrance).

CONDITIONS:  48 DEGREES & a slight dip in temps on the field

The Thang:  6 sets of 10 100-yard sprints in 45 minutes

GasHouse origin:  we had plenty of AO name options this morning….Gas, Fuel, Chunder Churl, Cirque de Sore Legs…..but all it took was two visits from Long Haul.  He lights us all up with GasHouse…..then let’s one fly after we all agree to roll with it.  You had to be there.  It was perfect.

Great work this morning, gentlemen.  Hope to see many more sooner than later.
