YHC knew it had a chance to be a sloppy morning with the incoming hurricane/tropical depression. I knew that many of the usual pax would be recovering from the weekend trip to the mountains but that didn’t stop me from posting. Whether it was the chance to run in the rain/hurricane (never done by YHC) or the opportunity to hear some war stories I decided to post. YHC even decided to get some XL miles in advance. So, when I came in hot and “moist” right on the hour to a near empty parking lot I thought “I missed the war stories, they already went for coffeeteria to stay dry while recovering.” Mac, the morning Q was luckily still waiting for me and encouraged me to “go get it” while he would “recover” by joining with the “wander”ing pax in need of a Q as well. YHC took the words of encouragement and decided to get in the miles he missed over the weekend, here’s the breakdown of how YHC conquered the hurricane. The warm up: (2.2 miles) Quick ONB – north on S. Lake, take a left on Main, continue left on W. Main to Lexington Medical, take a lap around the parking lot and return to the VSF. The route: (7.8 miles) Head south on S. Lake to Gibson, right on Gibson to Duffie, take Duffie to Shawshank for 2 laps, return to Duffie and take a left out to hwy 1, turn right on Hwy 1, complete a lap around K-mart parking lot before continuing toward Butler, right on Butler to Church, left on Church, right on S. Lake, left on Main, right on Fort St, right on S. Lake, left on Maiden, right on S Church, right on Main, right on Kaufman Ave and return to the VSF Upon my return I was pleased to see the Q, Mac was still waiting on me. Mac blessed me with some war story teasers of the valiant efforts in the mountains by the likes of WeeWee, Crack and Fracture and said a prayer as we departed. YHC was glad to hear fun was had by all who conquered the BRR. My short devo – “And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it.” Even God rested from His labors, and He expects His children to do the same. Recover well my fellow Stride pax. “We have great cause for concern. But we do not need to let our fears displace our faith. We can combat those fears by strengthening our faith.” Russell M. Nelson “Fear thou, not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” Isaiah 41:10 No “FOMO”, enjoy every moment you get! And, don’t let the weather or anything else discourage you.
