SEVEN7SEVEN2POINT0

YHC was looking forward to a Saturday morning Q with the PAX of The Hollow. These guys are always up for a good challenge, and because the day that I finally move away from Lexington and will no longer be able to post here is drawing closer, I wanted to put at least one more beatdown on these fellas.

Since my last Q at Shawshank was a convergence by name only and none of these PAX from the Hollow got to experience it, I thought it would be a good thing to bring a slightly modified version this time around. Cobains to Soaker and Coon Dog who had to do it twice.

Here’s how it went down…

DEVO

God is not slow in keeping His promises…

As my life has been marked by change in recent years (and especially in recent months), I’ve found myself losing patiences with God’s timing and wanting to the control over things more than I should. A few weeks ago I was reminded of a song I first heard during my college days. It was written to the church using the bride/groom metaphor and referred to the scriptures in the chorus when it said, “Dear Friend, He is not slow in keeping His promises as some understand slowness to be. Keep a watch out. Don’t lose faith. He said He would come for you. He’s going to come for you. You wait and see.”

These words were a gentle reminder that any control I have over my circumstances is an illusion and that it’s ALWAYS better to wait for the Lord’s timing. My life has travelled a long and winding road, but as I look back, the path has a definite design and inherent beauty. My path has rather gone where I would have planned or thought. Still, I don’t think I would have traded any of these experiences for anything.

As I look forward to the continued change that lies ahead, my prayer is that I will remember that God is not slow in keeping His promises as I may understand slowness to be. May we all wait patiently and with expectation for how and when He will leads us, and me we all have the faith to follow.

As always, it was an honor to stand among and lead these men. I look forward to seeing the in the gloom soon.
