It’s Official, We Had a Bunch of Hecklers For the Launch!

A total of 44 men showed up, including 5 FNGs, to The Grove for the beginning of a new day on Daniel Island and the surrounding communities. As YHC prepared for the launch, it had me thinking about how F3 has touched my life, and very unexpectedly. I had gone from someone who was cruising through life, but not focused outwardly, but inwardly. F3 has changed me forever in putting myself 3rd. I have great dreams for the men in our community to find the unexpected result of F3…a purpose where you are not at the center and looking for how life with serve you, but rather how you will serve life instead.

With that, 8 men gathered at 0600 for some extra credit with anywhere between 5 and 6 miles. As the group came upon the Shovel Flags, a large group had already gathered in the gloom with similar thoughts that YHC had that we are paying this concept of F3 forward to the community around Daniel Island. We had PAX from far and wide with representation from Lexington, Summerville, and all of the AOs across Charleston. I had a nervous energy and excitement leading up to this day, including a terrible night sleep! Thoughts of whether this would be a success, would people show up, could I pull of the Q with a diverse group, whether small, large, fit, or beginner. As the Wienke was put together, YHC felt that it would be a good fit, but the PAX will make the final decision.

The Thang.

COP with 44 men in total around the sparkling new Shovel Flag of TheGrove and the Summerville Flag representing their PAX strongly. There was a lot of pent up chi that turned into a heckling barrage. YHC must have been in “The Zone” as it sounded like faint little drops of rain in the background as the game was being played and the goal looked larger than the sun shining down upon us. As the background noise grew, I thought, what an awesome

Mosey to center of the field for the crowd pleaser Tunnel of Love.

44 men in plank position a good bit apart, took a bit of instruction to get us there, for an over and under extravaganza. Based on the groans, it hit the mark.

Next up was Seal Sit Ups. We did not get through many as we were booted off the field by the rec dept. Need to figure that one out, but they did not rain on our parade as we moved our final COP under the bridge for 6 MOM.
