Fight the Good Foo

It’s been everlong since YHC Q’d his original posting grounds.  So he brought the best, the best, the best, the best of Banjo – in Foo-Fighting fashion to get good and pumped up for the show tonight.

Thanks to the Detainees for humoring 45 minutes of “white girl workout music.”  Hopefully at least one of the tunes will stick in your head well enough to drive you to badassery; or force you to go back and listen to it over and over again until your brain resets.

Welcome, Disclaimer, and BOM

The Thang:

COP:

*SSH x 25 IC
*TTT x 20 IC
*Moroccan Night Clubs x 25 IC

Parking Space Tracers (4:30) to “All My Life”

PAX grab the end of a parking line – side straddle to the curb – jog to next stripe – side straddle back to the aisle.  R&R and add a burpee for every parked car you pass.  Then it’s done, done, on to the next one…

Mosey to the Principal (4:15) to “Best of You”

I’ve got another confession to make… we’re about to do some Principal stuff.

Chasing the Wall (4:10) to “Everlong”

Pair up.  PAX1 sprints up Principal, PAX2 starts bearcrawling up Principal.  PAX1 tags wall and runs back to take PAX2’s spot on the bearcrawls so he can run and tag the wall.  R&R up and down Principal until song is over.

Toothfairy Sits (4:27) to “The Pretender”

You can pretend the tooth fairy’s not real… until Banjo Q’s.  PAX1 merkins each step in choice of three flights while PAX2 wall-sits.  Swap/R&R until song is over.

Hump & Jumps (4:00) to “Monkey Wrench”

PAX1 humps the monkey while PAX2 broad-jumps the patio and back.  Swap/R&R until song is over.

Heroes (4:20) to “My Hero”

Circle up for slow and deliberate Peter Parkers until chorus – then strike the “Superman.”  R&R with Parker Peters, etc. until song is over.  He’s ordinary.

Ain’t got Wings (4:00) to “Learn to Fly”

On your six for flutter kicks!  Varied verse-to-chorus with 2deg, 45deg, 90deg holds.

Touch Down (4:40) to “Wheels”

Mosey back to front parking lot.  Plank for the six and finish out with 10 Merkins IC.

Big Me/Little Me (2:30) to “Big Me”

Low plank to high plank verse-to-chorus.

Parking Space Tracers (4:30) to “All My Life”

PAX grab the end of a parking line – side straddle to the curb – jog to next stripe – side straddle back to the aisle.  R&R and add a burpee for every parked car you pass.  Then it’s done, done, on to the next one…

Done.

Moleskine:

*Detention welcomes Wingback! Transferring by letter from F3 Columbia.  Welcome, brother.

*Quality mumble chatter and discussion of varying tastes in music.  Turns out Patches is a huge Ariana Grande fan… who doesn’t read backblasts.

Prayer Requests:

*Beth Obruba – late stages of a years-long battle with cancer.  Prayers for her, her friends, and family.

*Praise for Tardy & Co.  Mom and baby are doing well.

Devo: 2 Timothy 4:6-8

6 For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure has come. 7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.”

To paraphrase Bluehawk, who brings 52 years of wisdom to the COT, we all have our own struggles.  Even the people we envy have struggles unseen.  The Apostle Paul, too, had struggles, through years of ministry, torture, and until his death.  However, he remained focused on Jesus Christ in order to triumph over them all.  Fight the fight.  Finish the race.  Keep the faith.
