5 minutes of pain. One round at a time.

I woke up this morning with no idea in store for The Bounty.  The forecast last night said we would be missing some light periods of rain, but I woke up this morning to 40 degree weather and rain.  I was expecting a light crowd due to the weather, but The Shank crew showed up in force to give us 8 total.  During our warm up, I decided on the workout below.

Conditions: 10 degrees and light rain

The thang:

Disclaimer, prayer, and mosey to the track.

Two lap fartlek.  Sprint the straights (75%) and mosey the curves.

The workout:  7 rounds of 400m at 80% followed by 400m at 50%.   You have 5 minutes for each round until you start again.  The amount of rest between rounds depends on how quickly you finish the 800m.

This was an old Crossfit workout that I tried several months back.   The first one or two rounds are not that bad, but as you continue they have a cumulative impact on your legs.   The fast 400 raises your heart rate and just when it starts to lower, you have to start the next round.

Thank to all the pax who pushed me this morning.  Cold and wet conditions are far from my favorite, but having others suffer with me makes it fun.    Ish…
