F3 Pilgrimage With Squanto and Myles Standish

Fifteen PAX made the pilgrimage to Depot this morning for a pre-Thanksgiving block-and-brick fest. The mumble chatter was subdued for the warmup as the PAX waited to see if YHC could count properly, but picked up considerably once we moved into a little mud.

CONDITIONS: A balmy 65 degrees with just enough dampness in the air to facilitate a good sweat.

PRAYER

THE THANG

Circle up in parking lot for warm-up:

  • SSH x 15 IC
  • Windmill x 15 IC
  • Through the tunnel x 15 IC
  • Imperial Walkers x 15 IC

Mosey to the brickpile to grab two bricks and one cinder block.

Plymouth-Rock
We went with the Plymouth Block to prevent jockeying for the smallest rock from the riprap.

Form a shoulder-to-shoulder line in middle of the track to Bring Supplies to Shore after landing the MayflowerYHC forgot  “boat canoe” to symbolize the ship, but some guys were probably glad for that.

  • Everyone on their knees. Last man in line passes his block to the left, bear crawls to the other end of the line. Keep passing blocks until all are through the line. Stay in line.

Here’s where the PAX met our first important figure in the story of Plymouth Colony and the first Thanksgiving.

Squanto
Squanto

Squanto helped save the colony by teaching the settlers how to fertilize and grow corn – or as Indians called it “maize.” We didn’t have a maze – but we did have a tunnel.

  • Belly crawl through the plank tunnel. #crowdpleaser as the tunnel extended into a mudhole at the end and messed up the Clemson shirts of a few rebellious PAX.
  • Squats for Squanto 50 OYO
No F3 PAX would be caught dead in that collar.
No F3 PAX would be caught dead in that collar.

Partner up and move to the track with blocks and bricks for the Myles Standish. A more accurate description might be the Mylish Stand, as we ran approximately 1.5 miles around the track and did some mostly standing stationary workouts with blocks and bricks.

First partner does stationary workout with bricks or cinder block, while partner takes a lap with a brick in each hand. At the end of lap, partners trade off.

Six AMRAP stationary workouts:

  • Laying on your back, cinder block press
  • Stand up, Boxing w/ bricks in hand: Jab left, jab right, uppercut left, uppercut right
  • Curls w/ cinder block
  • Shrugs w/ cinder block
  • Axe chop with bricks
  • T-claps with bricks

Continue T-claps waiting on the 6.

Return blocks and bricks and mosey to the shovel flag.

DEVO FROM CRASH

MOLESKIN:

YHC was a little nervous with a first-time solo Q this morning, but I was pleased to hear some mumble chatter about the tunnel and see guys breaking a sweat and breathing heavy during the Myles Standish. Seems I’m the first guy to ever say, “I liked a Phonebooth workout” and took it from there.

It was great to see our Ruckin’ brothers back with us safe and sound this morning.

On a personal note, I want to say that F3 is definitely one of the biggest things I’m thankful for this year. It’s changed my health and changed my life, and I appreciate everyone who pushes me to #Be Better, #Get Better.
