Boxwine’s Moist Four Corners of Pain

YHC rolled out of bed this morning and thought that it was going to be a great day to put in some work.  I didn’t realize how humid it would be.  You could almost cut the moisture with a knife.  Still, work needed to be done and nine other men resisted the fartsack as well in order to get better.

Conditions: 72 degrees and humid

The Thang:

Pick up a block and head to the large soccer field.  Circle up in the middle of the field.  We started with 20 Curls.  Then we began the four corners of pain.  The exercises were as follows: 1st and 3rd corners: 15 Merkins, 2nd and 4th corners: 15 Monkey Humpers.  After each exercise we ran back to the center and did 20 Curls.  After the first rotation, we lined up on the midfield line and did bear crawls to the goal line.  We sprinted back to midfield.

Second circuit of pain was the same as the first except that we changed the exercises.  In the center, we did 20 Overhead Presses.  1st and 3rd corners: 15 Derkins, 2nd and 4th corners: 15 BBS.  After the second rotation, we did bear crawls again to the goal line.  We moseyed back to midfield to give the Pax a little breather.

Next, we decided to focus our attention on half of the soccer field.  We did a Burpee Ladder starting with 8 and working our way down to1.  We stopped at every corner using half of the field.  It took us two trips around and all of the Pax were feeling it by the end.  We returned the blocks to the pile and headed back to the shovel flag.

YHC had to get his phone so I instructed the Pax to do Squats until I got back.  They begrudgingly obliged even though I missed this exercise.  When I got back, I failed miserably at an attempt to lead the Pax with the last exercise – Merkin Mountain Climbers.  For some reason, I forgot how to count and audibled to OYO.  Most Pax completed 10 reps before I called for time.

Great job by all of the Pax of working hard and drenching their shirts in the stifling humidity.  There was also some great examples of motivating and picking up the Six.

Prayer Requests:

TNT’s friend is currently going through cancer treatment.

Neckbrace’s mother is dealing with a broken femur due to a fall last week as well as pneumonia.

Please keep both of these individuals and their families in your prayers.

Devo:

I shared a devotion dealing with the importance of showing kindness to others.  I challenged the Pax to go beyond their comfort zone and try to show kindness to someone that they normally wouldn’t throughout the upcoming week.  The link to the devotion is below if you would like to check it out.
