Today’s route was inspired by a long desire of mine to run down Taylor St from Assembly to Huger. Why? Wish I knew… After years of driving down the rollercoaster that it is, I’ve always wanted to take it by foot. For whatever reason I decided to put a route together with as few turns as possible. Unfortunately for the Pax, that left us on some of the busiest roads in downtown Columbia.
Conditions: 30 to 32 deg & clear
The Thang:
Depart DHS at 0630 making a right out of the lot onto Millwood
Follow Millwood to Taylor and turn left
All the way down Taylor to Huger where we made a left
Then Left on Devine and a quick right to left jog that threw us onto Blossom where we made a left.
We took Blossom all the way until it ends in N. Trenholm where we hung a left and climbed up the Devereaux. Here is where Stent smelt the hay and took off.
We followed Devereaux to Adger and made a left for the final down hill stretch to COT. Gump took off after Stent down the final stretch, but I don’t think he caught him… I for one hung back and stuck to the nice conversational pace I had enjoyed for the first 9.75 miles!
Moleskin:
Great run, especially as the PAX stayed together the entire time (excluding the last little leg)… Good conversation was had by all, that is when we weren’t dodging traffic. Note to self and the next Q, there is still a lot of traffic on the roads between 6:30 & 8:00. Better to stick to the side & neighborhood streets.
Announcements: The wall will still run the Saturday after Christmas and I’m pretty sure New Years as well. If you’re able to make it out, please join.
