  1. HC. Anything for a patch. Wait there is a patch for this, right? Well, even if there isn’t it sounds like a blast. I’m in.

  2. THE BEAR UPDATE:

    1. Highland Creek Elementary School’s address is 7242 Highland Creek Parkway, Charlotte, NC 28269.

    2. We will have two vans and a few cars leaving from the UNCC North Deck parking lot at 0530 to take Pax to Highland Creek Elementary School

    3. Pax who are providing their own shuttle-service need to park in the lot next to the North Deck at the UNCC and leave by 0530 to go to Highland Creek Elementary School

    4. If you plan to use the shuttle, please drop off your passengers at Highland Creek Elementary School, then drive to UNCC to park your car (e.g. we don’t need to shuttle the whole carload, just the driver)

  3. Planning to arrive in a clown car from Metro…bring some of the leftOvers from the GOAT…you know you wanna…looking forward to it gents!

      1. And what a boring moment it was…

Good to have you @BBQ but if you’re doing it for me, you’re doing it for the wrong reasons. We all know you’re really doing it for the endless prizes and overflowing recognition. Your peers in #CubicleWorld will be waiting for you on pins and needles Monday AM waiting to hear all about your wild endeavors. I’m pumped that you’ll now have amazing stories to share with them during Show & Tell.

By the way…who’s on Hootie Duty?

    1. Attaboy, Posh! See what a free coozie will do for a guy’s confidence! Now I just gotta try to keep up with you. #sandbagger

  4. A note for some of our newer guys – or bootcamp vets that have not done a multi-hour event.

    – Get some calories in you before the event. Banana & PB, 1/2 english muffin w/ PB, 1/4 cup of oatmeal (with PB), etc… Some carbs and some protein. Watch the coffee…there are no bathroom facilities available until you get home….

    – Bring some hydration with you. Yes there will be two aid station stops where you can re-fill, but always good to have it when YOUR body needs it. CamelBak if you don’t mind that thing bouncing around on your back. Nanny likes a disposable water bottle with gels duck taped to it.

    – bring some calories to consume along the way. You will enjoy the event a lot more if you are properly fueled. Light carbs or sugars. Gel packs, gummies, figs, raisins, half a granola bar, etc… Ingest every 45 minutes.

    – Lube up prior to the event. Especially those nips. Future self will thank you around 2PM.

  5. A few final messages… please spread the word to your crew:
    1) Bring your #ShovelFlags
    2) Echo The Nanny’s message above re: BYO hydration/fuel – we will have water and Gatorade at key points en route, but plan accordingly for your particular needs
    3) Important! Re: Parking – shuttle service is limited and will only be available from the UNCC North Deck to Highland Creek Elementary pre-event. There is no shuttle service post event. Please plan accordingly and if you can coordinate your own shuttle service with your cars amongst your PAX (like the Bear 2013 between Davidson/GCC) between the start/finish locations then even better. If you are parking at the North Deck, please use the surface lot rather than the deck. Shuttles depart the deck at 0530 sharp!
    4) Beatdown launches at 0600, but pre-event activities (such as reading the extensive #F3disclaimer) will commence at 0555.

      1. Aye Exit54… when ye get thar set yer eyes upon the heavens and look for the brightest star. Follow it until the glow of the gold that be Eldorado shine upon you. Or just drive around until you see some guys wearing dark clothing standing around a parking lot.

  6. T-claps to #Chowder and his band of cronies for their leadership and what they promised to be the easiest Bear yet.
