5:00 am Wednesday morning a brother in the gloom rises from his bed and heads out to meet the pax for his daily run. He prepares himself as he normally would, shoes, socks, shorts, shirt, blinking lights, reflective vest and headlamp. The route is called and the roads he runs are familiar, there is nothing out of the ordinary about this day, except that there is. By 6:00 am the life of this man is in peril, he is taken to the hospital where he is quickly surrounded by family and friends in hopes that their worst fears will not be realized. By 9:00 am prayers are lifted across a city, a region, a nation by the men of F3, many feeling just as YHC did that this accident, this event, this tragedy could have occurred to any one of us and prayers are the only thing we can offer at this time, waiting to be called to leadership to help this family in need.

COT: The call came out last night from the Nantan to all morning Qs to take a moment to lift up our brother in prayer and to find the words necessary to center the pax to the cause of the day. YHC turned to the only place he knew for guidance in this efforts and found these words in Proverbs “Healing words are the tree of life.” The prayer led the pax to honor Cheech with our effort during the morning, to keep his family in our prayers and to strive for failure in the gloom.

Moleskin: What do you say when faced with a tragedy of this nature and the loss of a brother in the gloom #toosoon? YHC struggled with this idea last night in planning for today’s Q and for today’s prayers. Words at a time like this can seem empty and not enough and yet YHC was led to Proverbs last night “Healing words are the tree of life.” The Lord teaches us that he has a plan, and we as mortal sinners are often too close to the plan to see where it will lead. Let us then use healing words to lift up the family of Cheech, let us use healing words to lift up the brother of F3 Lexington, let us use healing words to remind our families that we love them, and let us use healing words to spread love, faith, hope, and trust into our communities. I can think of no better way to honor a man who lived by faith and love than by spreading faith and love to those around us everyday. #WeAreAllCheech
