Just when you thought things couldn’t get better at #TheMission…

Just when you thought your previous experiences at #TheMission couldn’t be topped, this Saturday came along and took things to another level.

It truly was a special day at #TheMission on Saturday. While it wasn’t the first time a TV camera was in the Area of Operations of an F3-Columbia workout, this time it was to give surprise recognition to a well deserving pax for his hard work and leadership to make F3’s efforts with The Oliver Gospel Mission’s Recovery Program such a tremendous success. Our Brother, Sean Rankin, affectionately known in the #Gloom as Robber, was recognized by WIS-TV and Mungo Homes as a Community Builder Award Winner. As the recipient of this award, Robber will be able to designate $1,000 towards the charity of his choice. Be sure to set your DVR for February 10 at 7:00 PM. Reporter Mary King said that there will be several short pieces throughout the afternoon of 2/10 leading up to the full story at 7:00.

Robber has not simply launched a Saturday workout at Finlay Park. It goes so much further than that. Under his leadership, F3 has provided workout gear for our Brothers at OGM, mentoring opportunities, a run group on Wednesdays and Fridays that was used to prepare 7 of our F3 Brothers in the recovery program for their first Mud Run, a cookout, Christmas gifts for all men in the recovery program, as well many other things that have proven to be a blessing to all pax involved with this wonderful ministry to guys that are trying to get back on track. 23 pax were pretty fired up after the events these aforementioned events that transpired just before the beginning of the workout. A good time was had by all as Objective #1 of YHC’s workouts is to have fun….while 1a. is putting in hard work.

Moleskin: The comments that were shared in the COT were as good as ever. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd F’s were in abundance on an a beautiful day in the Capital City. Our Brothers in OGM are truly appreciative of our friendship and being part of our brotherhood. If you haven’t been to Finlay Park on a Saturday morning at 0830, I encourage you to come check it out. It’s truly something special and I believe you will be glad you did.
