60’s style track workout

If you’ve never seen the movie Prefontaine, it’s a 1997 movie about Steve Prefontaine who was a middle and long distance runner who once held 7 American records and competed in the 1972 Olympics.  This was the height of the 70’s running boom, and he was quite the celebrity.  He passed away at 24 in a car accident.

Many scenes in the movie are set on the track….. 60/70’s tracks.  The track at hand middle is right out of this movie.  Gravely, sandy, bumpy, hard as anything to run on.  Also, it’s about 0.05 miles short of a 1/4 mile per lap. It’s nothing pretty that’s for sure, but it’s good enough.  Work doesn’t require pretty equipment or fancy gear.  All it requires is that you lace up your shoes and head out the door with the right attitude.

6 pax joined YHC for some Prefontaine esque track work out.
