2017 New Year Fuel Challenge Week 6: The Light At The End Of The Tunnel

FINALLY! We have made it to the final week of the Fuel Challenge! I know you’re weary, but we can clearly see the light at the end of the tunnel now. While it may feel like it, I promise that light at the end of the tunnel is NOT the headlight of a speeding locomotive headed our way! Well done, sirs. Let’s push through for just one more week and complete this journey together!

Does this mean that we will return to eating like we did before the fuel challenge? Hopefully not totally. I’m sure that all of us have identified areas in our previous habits that we can improve upon and come away from this experience with a different perspective about eating a healthier diet.

In previous fuel challenges, the last week has been in my estimation the hardest of all; reduce meat consumption to a total of 3 oz. per day. But fear not, YHC has made an executive decision to not put you through what would truly be a CSAUP 7-day forced march all unto itself. Instead, this week we will return to the basics. The fundamentals. We will simply (what’s simple about this!!!) return to the Base Program. Even though I’m sure this information is very familiar to you at this point, please take a moment to review what we’ve done for the past 5 weeks:

BASE PROGRAM

The Challenge will give you a chance to test yourself with the support of your fellow men of F3. And maybe after 6 weeks, you will stick to the plan (or much of it) in order to live a healthier lifestyle. The program will have a base list of items that are prohibited during the six weeks as follows:
No ALCOHOL
No Fried Foods
No Fast Food (including Pizza)
No Red Meat
No Breads
No Potato Chips, Snack Foods, Etc.
No Desserts
No Sodas or Sweet Tea

This leaves many food and drink items available – no one will go hungry! Just eat/drink better.

You will receive ONE free pass per week also known as “The Cheat Meal” – this could be a steak dinner, a pizza, or a drinking occasion, etc. – no carryovers though, the pass can only be used that week – try to use your weekly pass in moderation. (And remember, a free pass is for a MEAL not an ENTIRE DAY!)

Here is a link to the Survival Guide with lots of great meal recommendations: http://f3nation.com/2013/10/10/2013-pre-holiday-fuel-challenge-survival-guide-with-meal-ideas-and-other-helpful-tips/ It’s never a bad time for a “refresher course” in healthy meal planning.

Keep up the good work! I am looking forward to hearing some great success stories once we finish. It was good to see the fuel challenge email loop get cranked back up again this week. If you would like to join in, just shoot me an email at [email protected].

See you at the FINISH LINE!

Aye!
