Uncork The Merlot!

When it’s your turn to Q, you always find that extra gear to push the pax outside of their comfort zone. Legion always has that extra pressure to exceed the expectation of the pax. Word came late in the evening that JarJar was bringing in another FNG. We are not really sure what he does over at the VA, but YHC is convinced that he is running some sort of underground FNG incubator program. He has brought in many FNGs over the last two years. His five step program seems to be: 1-stalk new victim, 2-hand out candy, 3-build trust, 4-convince them they are ready, 5-push them to the front lines of hell at Legion. YCH was ready to extend a warm welcome to our young (<30) FNG.

Conditions: 68 degrees, 88% humidity. (it was nice and cool for about 3 minutes).

The Thang:

Mosey to street corner for disclaimer and warm-up:

  • Side Straddle Hops: 25 IC
  • 2 Burpees
  • Mountain Climbers: 25 IC
  • 2 Burpees
  • Imperial Walkers: 25 IC
  • 2 Burpees
  • Flutter Kicks: 25 IC
  • 2 Burpees
  • Merkins-20 OYO
  • 2 Burpees

Run around block to the Basketball Courts for Merkin/Raise the Roof Ladder:

  • Merkins: 15 OYO
  • Raise the Roof: 5 OYO
  • Inverse Ladder (15 Merkins down to 5, 5 Raise the Roof up to 15).

Run around block to bottom of big hill on Damson Ln and partner up:

Round 1:

  • Partner 1:
    • Bear Crawl 10 steps, then 5 Merkins
    • Continue to the top of the hill, run down hill to switch w/partner
  • Partner 2:
    • Flutter Kicks until partner returns.

Round 2:

  • Partner 1:
    • Crab Walk 10 steps, then 5 Dips
    • Continue to the top of the hill, run down hill to switch w/partner 2
      • *(DURING THIS SEGMENT INSERT LARGE MERLOT SPILL ON DAMSON HILL)
  • Partner 2:
    • Russian Twists until partner returns.

Run around corner to get blocks and partner up at top of hill on Woodlawn.

  • Round 1:
    • Partner 1: Cusack w/ block to bottom of hill and back
    • Partner 2:  Max curls with blocks (switch when partner returns)
  • Round 2:
    • Partner 1: Farmers Carry with 2 blocks to bottom of hill and back
    • Partner 2: Max Big Boy Sit-ups (switch when partner returns)
  • Round 3:
    • Partner 1: Cusack w/block to bottom of hill and back
    • Partner 2: Overhead Press w/blocks (switch when partner returns)
  • Round 4:
    • Partner 1: Farmers Carry with 2 blocks to bottom of hill and back
    • Partner 2: Max Rosa Lida (switch when partner returns)
  • Round 5:
    • Partner 1: Cusack w/block to bottom of hill and back
    • Partner 2: Max Tricep Extensions (switch when partner returns)

Group Napalms:  15 OYO (3 part exercise w/blocks curl/overhead press/tricep ext)

Return blocks and run to concrete bleachers.

Round 1:

  • Box Jump to first stepfollowed by 3 squats (repeat at all 6 steps).
  • Rinse and Repeat 3 times

Round  2:

  • 3 Merkins, then plank crawl up to next step (repeat at all 6 steps).
  • Rinse and Repeat

Moleskin:

It was awesome to have another FNG join us at Legion. There is a art to keeping a Q tough for everyone, while also not discouraging a FNG. There was a Merlot Spill on Damson Hill, but kudos to FNG SnapChat for keeping CrabWalk position while making room for breakfast! He never gave up, and finished strong.
