Jumanji Thanksgiving Prep

YHC puts his name on the Q sheet pretty far in advance and a few months ago knowingly but unknowingly signed up for the Thanksgiving Q at Jumanji. Knowing the amount of food consumption that would occur later that day, YHC showed up with the intent to burn some extra calories with the PAX. Here’s how it went:

Warm up using the date for reps

Taking a lap around the fancy, exclusive-to-Jumanji rubber track, we did each of these exercises at 5 light poles. Skip a light pole before the next set of exercises.  Mosey from stop to stop.

2 burpees @ 5 light poles

10 crunches @ 5 light poles

10 squats @ 5 light poles

20 flutter kicks @ 5 light poles

10 merkins @ 5 light poles

Lunge from one pole to the next, about 35 lunges, putting us back in the parking lot.

Mosey through the remainder of the track to find the sign showing the distance of each lap and begin an Indian run style plank/merkins combo. All PAX hold a plank in a shoulder to shoulder line. First PAX in line does 10 merkins, hops up, and runs to front of line. We completed two rounds, high plank and low plank.

Mosey to picnic tables and complete this circuit as fast as you can:

10 box jumps

10 incline merkins 

5 burpees

Rest for 20 seconds and complete this circuit as fast as you can:

10 box jumps

10 decline merkins 

5 burpees

Indian run on the track over the river and through the woods to grandmothers house. End up back in the parking lot with a few minutes to spare.

Speed bump jumps: 10 broad jumps forward and backward over the speed bump then 10 lateral jumps from one side of the bump to the other.

10 bumpstop burpees to burn a few additional calories.

Call it a day and head for the family feasts! Bonus points if you consumed pears and cheese, negative bonus points for green bean casserole.
