Throwing down the Jauntlet

The Jauntlet began this morning at The Bounty and it was requested to bring the toughest routes/workouts for everyone to enjoy.  This was a tough decision because everything is equally tough.   In saying that, we were able to decide on these simple workouts below that allowed for some good mumblechatter and an elevated heart rate.

Conditions: 71 degrees and humid

The thang:

Disclaimer, prayer, and mosey to the track.

Three lap mosey to warmup.  COT with TTT x 20 IC.

Frankensteins, high knees, kick butts, and deep lunges to complete the stretching.

The workout:  5 rounds of 400m at 90% followed by 400m at 50%.   You have 5 minutes for each round until you start again.  The amount of rest between rounds depends on how quickly you finish the 800m.

7 rounds of 100m sprints.   One 100m every minute on the minute

1 lap mosey around the track and then mosey to the Tomcat stairs.  Run 10 minutes of the Tomcat cardio version until time expires.  It ended up around 2 laps for the pax.

Mosey back to the flag.

Moleskin:
It was great seeing some new faces out at The Bounty.  Hopefully we will have many returns.  I think Hulka may have been the first FNG ever at The Bounty so The Jauntlet has broken down barriers.  Great effort by everyone today.  The Bounty is supposed to be increasing my speed, but I was trailing for most of the day so I need to get after it.  Great push by everyone though.  Racing definitely makes you push yourself faster than you want to go.
