THE DEAL:
Day three of the 2018 Gauntlet featured 46 PAX. Spirits were high and so was the temperature (relative to the first two days). With plenty of hard-earned earned soreness following the Viper and the Kamikaze, everybody showed up determined to defeat the mighty Tomcat. The course’s creator, Peachy, posted and surely reveled in the pain his monstrosity dished out. The Hollow’s AOQ, Iron Mary, explained the details and started the music. We were instructed to survive until the music ended – which was easier said than done. For those not in the know, here’s what we faced…
THE TOMCAT:
* Weave up and down steps in front of gym – end at top
* 21 Merkins & 21 LBCs
* Run to steps in front of LOPAC
* Run down first column of steps, up ramp and back to top of LOPAC steps (twice)
* Weave down and up LOPAC steps – end at bottom
* 21 Merkins & 21 LBCs
* Run back to starting spot
Rinse and Repeat for 45 minutes, increasing reps by 1 each lap.
Like Monday and Tuesday before it, work was done today. Plenty of rucks and weighted vests were spotted, and PAX were continuing to push one another and themselves. By 0523 we had passed the Bon Jovi (halfway there) point of week one of the 2018 Gauntlet. “Only” 7 more courses to go!
