YHC crawled out of his sleep number fartsack aching from the workout hangover of the day before. The Snakepit Convergence Double Down with 5K GoRun claimed some pax including YHC. Some of the Twitter Injury Reports included, “popped something in my hip”, “8 workouts in 7 days my legs needed a break”, “Nantan beauty rest”, and “my legs are smoked”. Those Snakepit stairs have truly impressed the pax including YHC which slowed my pace for this morning ruck. Even the lure of coffeteeria at Krispy Kreme, did not lure the regular rucking pax out of their warm, cozy, fartsacks. Three PAX rose to the call of the “HOT NOW” sign and moseyed on through the Whiteford neighborhood at an easy 18 min/mile pace. We have all cut through this Lexington shortcut between 378 and North Lake Drive but never ventured it on foot. The 2ndF conversation and fellowship made those hills pass by with ease including the hamstring killer hill on Old Cherooke behind Publix. Wapner even found a souvenir of our RUCK adventure, a SC dealer license plate, a rare find for his collection but as a representative of the courts had to return to it’s owner. Good Job Wapner, keeping Lexington Beautiful! We returned to Lowes parking lot 1 hour later, rucked 3.25 at an 18:43 min/mile pace (I blame the license plate recovery for the time delay.) The PAX jumped in our vehicles for our rewards of HOT FRESH DONUTS. The comfort of hot coffee and Valentine donuts was rudely interrupted by the Ms urgent call for clean up of sick 2.0 at Casa Dunphy. YHC adventure continues….
