Four Quarters of Fun

Still feeling reinvigorated from the State of Depot Post that Pothole put forth the night before, YHC rolled into Depot ready to put in some work.  7 other pax showed up, one of whom hadn’t posted in quite a while (Kotters to Moonshine).  Moonshine let it be known that Pothole’s post was his reason for joining us this morning, which was great to hear.  As an aside, we would have had 10 pax if SC and Uno had kept their HC’s.  Conditions were 76 degrees with a slight wind, which was definitely needed by the end of the bootcamp.

Warm Up:

SSH * 10 IC, One Burpee (OYO), TTT * 10 (IC), One Burpee (OYO), OHAC * 10 (IC), One Burpee (OYO)

The Thang:

Each pax grabbed a block, and we headed to the upper field.  YHC laid out what was about to go down.  We would do an exercise with the block in the middle of the field, then head to first corner (do an exercise w/o the block), head back to midfield and do original exercise again, head to second corner (do a different exercise w/o the block), head back to midfield and do original exercise.  Then repeat this at corners three and four while stopping at midfield after each corner.  We did four circuits (or quarters) in total.  Exercises and counts were as shown below.  Our resident math whiz Moose determined that we would do 75 reps of the exercise in the middle and 40 of each corner exercise in total.

1. 15 Overhead Press in the middle, 20 Merkins at first and third corners, 20 Monkey Humpers at second and fourth corners.

2. 15 Curls in the middle, 20 Squats at the first and third corners, 20 Big Boys at second and fourth corners.

3. 15 Squat Thrusters in the middle (crowd-pleaser), 20 Iron Crosses at first and third corners, 20 High Knees at second and fourth corners.

4. 15 Bent Over Rows in the middle, 20 Lunges at first and third corners, 20 LBC’s at second and fourth corners.

YHC had planned to do a Burpee Ladder in honor of SC’s comment about hating burpees the night before, but time was getting short.  Instead we all did 10 Burpees OYO and then returned to the shovel flag.

Good work Men of Depot!

Announcements: EH someone who’s never been before or reach out to someone who hasn’t been in a while.  Just think about how good a bootcamp feels when it’s done and how this should be shared with others.
