Scramble up Spring Hill

3 men emerged from the #fartsack today in spite of a light rain in search of an opportunity to #getbetter. Not sure if the route, the rain, or something else kept the other pax away today, but know that if you were not there, you were missed. Don’t let the summer trappings keep you from pursuing a better version of yourself.

Conditions: 72 degrees, 97% humidity, light to moderate rain

The Thang:

Coming from Trenholm Plaza…

Right on Trenholm
Left on Sylvan
Left on Daniel
Right on Willingham
Left on Atascadero
Right on Spring Hill
Right on Beverly
Left on Beltline
Left on Falcon
Right on Forest

Total: 5.25 miles & 355 ft Elevation Gain

Moleskin:

– There were two Strava segments on this route, both of them brutal. Spring Hill to the top of Beverly is a nasty hill segment that only 3 other people had attempted in the past year prior to today. It is likely to be revisited more often now.
– Falcon Rd is often seen as a killer hill, but after Spring Hill it looked more like a mound
– In the middle of summer a light rain is actually quite nice, those who chose to stay in missed a pleasant morning

Announcements/Prayer Requests:

– June 30th Pine Island Event to support the Oliver Gospel Mission
– July 16th Bullseye Half Marathon still sounds ridiculous

– Prayers continue to be requested for F3 Greenwood’s Rocky as he remains in the hospital recovering from complications of pancreatic cancer
– Not known during COT but much needed now, prayers for F3 Lexington’s Cheech who was struck by a car this morning during a run. It is not known what his condition is, but this could happen to any of our pax on any given morning and we all need to lift up Cheech, his family and the F3 Lexington men
