YHC just gave a quick review of a message from my church this past Sunday concerning Isaiah 52. Verse 14 says Many were amazed when they saw Jesus. His faced was so disfigured he seemed hardly human” I guess I had missed or just casually ran past this point before, but for someone to be beaten so badly that one could not tell if he were an animal or a human is a pretty strong picture in my mind. Hebrews 12:2 says that Jesus “Because of the JOY awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame”.
Two take always for me that i personally thought about:
- How undeserving I am for anyone to have damaged one single hair on His body, and grateful that He didn’t see it that way.
- How great must heaven be (compared to this life), if He Joyfully endured the cross that mangled Him beyond recognition of his own species.
