Crazy 88’s and a water jug

Week 2 of IPC is in the books. 7 studs and YHC showed up to take on the Crazy 88’s. It was humid, very humid, no rain but thanks to last night, Shawshank, for once, was a tad damp on the fields.

Once again my inspiration, Ken Doll, left me with the big board with instructions written up for the workout. This guy has taken me under his wing through shaming my little board and provided not only me, but the rest of the pax, with a board that is easy to read, legible handwriting, and proper spelling throughout. 3 cheers for Ken Doll. Hip-hip-hooray, hip-hip-hooray, hip-hip-hooray. For he’s a jolly good fellow, etc.

1 minute warning, disclaimer, opening prayer.

Mosey to the field which was nicely prepared with blocks lined up, light lit, and of course the mother of all boards prominently standing up for all to see.

Week 2

Buzz Saw and Coon Dog set a torrid pace. 2 fine men, 2 fine athletes. They finished up when I was doing my 6th set of burpees. Amazing.

Dunphy had an advantage over the rest of us. He went to the ground quickly doing his burpees while wearing his weighted vest. Gravity worked in his favor and he crushed the IPC. I think the extra weight also helped out during the bear crawl but I can’t prove it. Something to watch for next time.

Lego did his thing and did it well. No quit in this guy.

Hash & Rice was a stud and called out the number of sets for everyone. This dude is not normal. Calling out sets, counting reps, and cracking jokes? Swansea has produced some fine people but H&R is one of the best.

Doo Dah dipped and spit and made his way through the workout in fine fashion. The issue came up with his water jug. Little discussion about the taste and the method of extracting water from the opening at the top. You really need to post to hear the details.

Runaway, the newest pax (besides Xanadu), continues to post and get better. He has not merloted in several weeks and finished strong today. His crawlbear back to the line covered extra ground because his line back looked more like 14 s-curves.

This is a solid group of men and did a great job. Week 2 is in the books.

Mosey back to the flag.
