A Pair of Pax and a Pair of Blocks

The Gauntlet is still going on strong and the CAT was hosting. CAT 5 is a great workout if you have never had the opportunity to conquer the stairs. That being said, this is a Shawshank post. If you want more CAT news, read their backblast.

The weather started out cool. YHC parked the car and waited to see if anyone would show up. Like Old Faithful, Shawshank’s very own geyser pulled into the parking lot at 5:26. That gave YHC 3 minutes to plan the workout. Plenty of time, thanks to Garth.

1 minute warning, disclaimer, open in prayer.

Mosey to the block pile and grab a dance partner.

LOP:

Line of pain, not circle of pain today.

SSH x 20 IC, Imperial Walker x 10 IC, TTT x 10 IC.

The Thang:

Corner 1 – 20 curls, 20 OH presses, 20 tricep extentions. Run to corner 2.

Corner 2 – 20 merkins. Run to corner 3.

Corner 3 – 20 lbc’s, 20 American hammers (2 ct). Lunge to corner 4.

Corner 4 – 20 squats. Run to corner 1.

Rinse and repeat for 4 rounds.

In honor of my good buddy, Coon Dog, we slipped 20 napalms in for fun.

Blocks were returned and we moseyed back to the shelter. As we approached bearcrawl bridge, the fog lifted, the starts were shining brightly, and a figure appeared in the gloom. What’s this? Could it be? Is it possible? Dang skippy, heck yeah! Coon Dog was walking towards us. This dude, from what I hear, corrected Buzz Saw on form during the CAT 5 and was obligated to do 5 minutes of Mary with us. Correcting Buzz Saw? Chalk this up to still being a youth. This guy has a lot to learn about Buzz Saw etiquette but he has come a long way since I have known him. Constructive criticism, backhanded praise, non-stop mumblechatter. Fun dude to be around during a boot camp, especially when you are the Q. He is the one pax you can count on to listen to instructions and follow them exactly, no questions asked.

Anyway, special thanks to Garth for posting today. This is his 7 month anniversary with F3 and he has been consistent from day 1. Nice to have you out this morning, Garth. Solid work.

Announcements:

Cheech 10K – Nov 13.

Shawshank Christmas party – Dec 11.

P200 – coming up.

Prayer requests:

Coon Dog – praise for cousin who is cancer free!

Closing prayer.

Devo: I had nothing planned but hearing Coon Dog’s praise and Garth letting us know his M is 2 years free from cancer, I was reminded of the verse in Lamentations. Your mercies are new every morning, great is your faithfulness. It always good to be reminded of God’s mercy in every area of life and every day. Look for signs of it today.
