9/11 Never Forget Dedication at Shawshank

YHC is feeling some FOMO about not being able to do the 9/11 Challenge this year, so he decided to incorporate it into a Weinke.  This is an outstanding event and one that you should try to do if you can.  The symbolism behind each exercise brings with it a sense of pride.  Never Forget is an important motto that should be taken as a rule.  YHC knows how he felt that day, but the joining together of America, without politics or any of the hot buttons of your choosing, is something that one can only hope for as we move throughout our lives.  Thank you to the first responders.  Thank you for your courage.  Thank you for your dedication.  And thank you for your willingness to run into a burning building to save the lives of someone you never met.

Devo (taken from sermon on Sunday by Pastor Trevor Miller)

  • Patience is a virtue
  • The first rule of love is patience; Corinthians 1:4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
  • Cannot love others the way we need to without patience
  • Have patience during the times of trouble and trust in the process.  What you get out of the process of going through something difficult, is usually the lesson that you look back on and are thankful for.
  • God’s time is not always on our time.  Just as fruit trees bare fruit and ripen on their time, we must be disciplined enough not to pick fruit before it is ready.  We can destroy a potentially beautiful thing by being impatient.
